Youth and Community Group Dance Workshops and School Dance Clubs

Street Feet Dance workshops can be tailored to meet your needs, whether you are a school, youth group or other community organisation. Workshops can be booked to provide PPA cover, extra-curricular clubs, curriculum enrichment or to explore a topic or theme being covered at your setting. Other dance workshops are also available for INSET in primary schools. Each workshop typically lasts for one hour and can be booked either as a one-off or as part of a series of workshops. A series of workshops can be booked for half days (2 - 3 workshops) or whole days (5 - 6 workshops). Residencies are also available for celebration days/weeks, ending with a performance showcase of work. Popular events are International Day/Week and Arts Week.

Students will then learn and/or choreograph a routine and have the opportunity to perform as groups to one another. The session will end with a cool-down activity and plenary discussion.

All dance style workshops begin with an introduction to the specified genre of dance and an energetic warm-up, followed by the teaching and learning of gestures and motifs that are specific to the dance genre. These dance motifs will then be incorporated into a choreographed routine and the participants will perform this to one another towards the end of the session.
